The consortium delivering the programme also includes a prestigious group of associated institutions, universities, research centres and industry partners. The SUSTAGRI JMD central objective is to train professionals in the most advanced technologies and methodologies that can be applied to enhance the environmental, economic and social sustainability of farming. SUSTAGRI graduates will be able to effectively apply such cutting-edge technologies to daily operational work in farms, to provide assistance and advice to farmers in the implementation of smart agriculture systems, or to follow on a basic or applied research career eventually leading to a PhD degree. The integration of different but carefully selected technologies essential for 21st century agriculture is one of the distinctive aspects of SUSTAGRI. The development and use of various modelling tools of interest in the agricultural environment is highlighted as a transversal and distinctive aspect, for example for designing techniques to reduce agricultural or for simulating irrigation networks. The programme also pays particular attention to water and irrigation management, as water saving and efficiency is becoming a critical challenge for humankind. The design and application of the technological advances that underpin precision agriculture are covered extensively in our program. We believe that SUSTAGRI is a unique offer in the current panorama of master's studies.
