GLOBE seeks to deliver a two-year, 120 ECTS Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Global Change Ecology and Biodiversity Management. The programme is aimed at equipping students with the expertise needed to tackle human-induced environmental challenges. The consortium consists of four institutions, including Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Spain), Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal), Bangor University (UK), and Universidad Autónoma de Tlaxcala (Mexico). Capitalizing on the complementary expertise of the partners, the consortium will collaborate with a diverse network of Associated Partners and invited scholars, ensuring an attractive, innovative, and fully-integrated curriculum at the highest level worldwide. In the first year, students will acquire fundamental competences relevant to global change ecology and biodiversity conservation, and they will experience a hands-on summer field school in Mexico, where environmental problems and solutions will be illustrated in situ. The second year will offer specialized courses in environmental management, tailored to diverse ecosystems and biomes. The programme culminates in a research or technological master thesis, providing students with an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge advancements in the field, or to provide science-based solutions to environmental change. GLOBE's curriculum integrates ecological, natural, and socio-economic factors to provide a comprehensive understanding of global change impacts on ecosystems, and graduates will be equipped to become leaders in the field. Successful graduates will receive multiple degrees from participating institutions and a joint diploma supplement. The project closely aligns with Erasmus+ as well as European and international frameworks for nature protection and sustainability. GLOBE also aims to enhance the appeal of the EHEA by attracting top-tier international students and simultaneously fostering the internationalization of the participating institutions.
