" EACH - Excellence in Analytical Chemistry (www.analyticalchemistry.eu) is an international two-year EMJM programme that educates specialists in analytical chemistry qualifying them to work in various industries (food, pharmaceutical, materials, energy, etc) and chemical analysis laboratories (environment, food, health, etc) worldwide. EACH provides knowledge and skills in both fundamental and applied aspects of modern analytical chemistry, aiming to produce entrepreneurial and innovation-prone graduates, not only capable of finding a job, but also creating jobs themselves. The active involvement of industry via teaching courses, providing internship placements and supervising master's theses ensures that EACH responds to the needs of industry and laboratories, including applications in the interdisciplinary areas (sustainable energy, trade, climate, security, “omics”, industrial processes, etc). This ""practical touch"" ensures excellent employment prospects of the graduates. EACH is taught in collaboration with four partner universities – University of Tartu (UT, coordinator), Estonia; Uppsala University (UU), Sweden; University Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (UCBL), France; and Åbo Akademi University (AAU), Finland – and a number of associated partners – industries (Bruker, Arkema, IFP, etc), laboratories and academic institutions. Its clear and engaging structure with compulsory mobility periods builds on the complementary strengths of the partner universities. Students spend the first study year at UT learning the fundamental concepts and skills of analytical chemistry, metrology in chemistry, and the quality and socio-economic aspects of analytical chemistry. The second year is specialization oriented and is spent either at UCBL, UU or AAU. The master's thesis is done at one of the second-year universities or at associated partners. "
