Total sports spending is increasing in all European countries and this sector is seeing the emergence of new segments of activity (active tourism, fitness and health, recreational activities). Over the past 30 years, there has been a considerable increase in the number and type of sports organizations. Sport now represents 2% of the world's GDP (1200 billion euros - study by the French Economic, Social and Environmental Council). It is already an important economic sector and it is still growing rapidly. That is why, the University of Lille (France), the University of Lisbon (Portugal), Mykolas Romerys University (Lithuania), the Nicolaus Copernicus University (Poland) and the LUNEX University - International University of Health, Exercise & Sports SA propose to offer a unique Joint Master's Programme in sports management. The “Governance & Administration of Leisure and Sports International Master” (GOALS) is a 2-year programme, taught entirely in English dedicated to students who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in international sports management. It includes mandatory mobility between the partner universities, based on the student’s choice of specialization and according to our different partners’ expertise. The GOALS Master programme offers two internal tracks (1) Sports Industry and (2) Leisure, Sport and Events management allowing future candidates to have access to academic courses, interventions by professionals specialised in their respective fields and experience in the professional environment (internships). The GOALS programme focuses on the sports industry and the international sports event industry by offering a high level of scientific expertise and a strong relationship with the economic and institutional environment. Successful completion of the GOALS programme leads to the award of a joint diploma. Rather than national diplomas, it demonstrates the homogeneity of this unique international curriculum.
