Programme Description The Heinrich Böll Foundation is the Green political foundation. Every year, under the heading "promoting talent", the foundation supports around 1,650 students and doctoral students from all academic backgrounds and types of higher educational institutions in Germany and abroad. They are prepared to take responsibility and advocate the green foundation's ideals in an international context: the concepts of democracy, ecology, solidarity and nonviolence. Beyond the financial support, the programme offers non-material support such as yearly PhD scholar forum and workshops, which aim at fostering personal growth, promoting interdisciplinary qualification as well as key skills development. Target Group particularly gifted German and international doctoral candidates from any discipline completing promising doctoral dissertations at a German higher education institution showing excellent promise for future academic and professional careers. Moreover, applicants show civic engagement in line with the values of green policy. Academic Requirements admission to post-graduate studies at a state or state-recognised institution of higher education in Germany; initial preparatory work for the doctoral project must be completed. German doctoral candidates and international students who qualify as a so-called "Bildungsinländer" can also do a doctorate in another EU country. Funding is available for doctoral students with research projects on all topics and from all disciplines. Priority is given to research projects related to the foundation's priority topics. Duration The standard funding period is 3 years; in addition, application for renewal is possible for up to 6 months. Scholarship Value Please find information on the current funding here .
