Knight-Hennessy Scholars

Funding for up to three years of any full-time graduate degree at Stanford, for high-achieving students from around the world with a record of leadership and civic commitment. Each year scholars receive a fellowship covering tuition and fees, a stipend for living and academic expenses, and a travel stipend for one economy return trip; new scholars also get a one-time relocation stipend. For degrees longer than three years, such as a PhD or MD, the department's standard funding covers the later years. Applicants submit two separate applications: one to Knight-Hennessy Scholars and one to their Stanford graduate programme. The KHS application for the 2027 cohort closes on 6 October 2026 at 1:00pm Pacific Time. Graduate programme applications with later deadlines must still be submitted by 1 December 2026, and Stanford MBA applicants must apply in MBA Round 1.
