Sustainable Catalysis
SuCat Erasmus Mundus consortium
Deadline not listed
The Sustainable Catalysis (SuCat) project is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s (EMJM) programme aimed at training highly skilled professionals in the field of sustainable catalysis. The transition to cleaner and more efficient chemical production is essential for Europe’s sustainability goals, and catalysis plays a key role in this shift, impacting energy conversion, emissions reduction, and industrial processes. The project aligns with the European Green Deal by promoting circularity, greener chemistry, and energy-efficient reactions. The SuCat objectives are to: i) strengthen European higher education in sustainable catalysis., ii) offer a unique master’s program covering homogeneous, heterogeneous, and biocatalysis; iii) foster academia-industry collaboration through internships and research projects; iv) affording a minimum of two mobilities and v) enhance employability by training professionals in catalysis-driven sustainability. The programme, delivered by a consortium of four universities (Poitiers, Aveiro, Rovira i Virgili, and Padova), integrates advanced theoretical knowledge with hands-on industrial and academic training. Students gain interdisciplinary expertise in catalysis, sustainability, digitalization (AI and machine learning in catalyst design), and life cycle assessment (LCA). The curriculum ensures mobility across institutions and industry placements in top companies which are associated partners of the SuCat programme. The SuCat programme aligns with the Net-Zero Industry Act and EU innovation strategies, ensuring Europe’s leadership in catalysis and sustainable chemistry.
