This globally competitive EMJM on Sustainable Forest and Nature Management (SUFONAMA) aims to educate graduates that are able to cope with the tremendous challenges in contemporary forest and nature management and enabling them to adapt to future, yet unknown, issues. SUFONAMA graduates will become professionals in private and public companies, I/NGOs, government bodies, and research institutions. The five consortium institutions are: (i) The University of Copenhagen, Faculty of Science (coordinating institution), (ii) Bangor University, School of Natural Science (SNS), (iii) Georg-August Universität Göttingen, Institute of Forest Sciences and Forest Ecology, (iv) the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Southern Swedish Forest Research Centre, and (v) University of Padua, Department of Land, Environment, Agriculture and Fores All students get a thorough introduction to sustainability in forest and nature management during their first year in Copenhagen, where faculty from all partner universities will join the teaching activities. In their second year, students pursue a particular line of specialisation at the other partner universities; Conservation and Land Management (Bangor), Forest and Nature Management in a Changing Climate (Göttingen), Sustainable Forestry in the Boreal and Temperate Zones of Northern Europe (Alnarp), and Sustainable Forest and Land Protection (Padua). Expected annual student intake is 50. Teaching staff is very active in research and students will profit from their global expertise. SUFONAMA can readily issue accredited and fully recognised double-degrees but aims to develop joint degrees. SUFONAMA collaborates with a strong global Associate Partner network. It acts to promote a European vision of the sustainable management nexus, enhancing EHEA attractiveness through the programme's reputation, innovative teaching approaches, integrated cross-country and cross-institutional collaboration, and the career profiles of graduate
