University of Helsinki Scholarship Programme (tuition fee waivers)

Tuition fee waivers of 50% or 100% for excellent students from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland who have to pay fees for an international master's programme at the University of Helsinki (fees are €13,000, €15,000 or €18,000 a year). Most waivers are 50%, only a limited number are available, and some programmes award only 50% waivers. The university does not cover living costs. Waivers go to the best applicants on academic record, motivation and the grounds given in the application. Apply for the waiver on the same form as the master's programme, choosing the 50% or 100% category; the result comes in the admission e-mail. The application period for studies starting in autumn 2027 is 5 to 19 January 2027.
